Kashipur, a small city situated in the Udham Singh Nagar district in the Kumaon Region of Uttarakhand is blessed with natural beauty and a few ancient temples that have immense historical significance. This lowland destination in Uttarakhand has gained popularity as the new industrial city and it houses one of the important B-Schools in India, IIM. Other than industrial development, this city is known for its sanctity as it is the home to several Hindu temples and a Sikh Gurudwara. The tourist places in Kashipur are fewer like Govindsham Fort, the Tumaria Dam, and some ancient temples. During the time of King Harsha of Pushyabhuti Dynasty in 606–647 AD, Kashipur was known as Govishana and the place is also known to have a history of clothes and metal vessels trade.
